What a better time to reconnect...

Dear friends, dear readers,

Two more weeks of confinement since the last post.

A lot has already changed in only 2 weeks. I have been witnessing a lot of positive changes.
We are still in crisis, don't get me wrong. But at least things have started improving.

For example, I live in London and people here have started to adapt!
That's great! Adapting is a key to survival. It is what makes us succeed. Adapting is what makes us overcome challenges. It is what allows us to make sense of the nonsense.

In Lebanon (my home country) on the other hand, people have surpassed expectations and strongly showed how much good there still is out there. In a country torn out by corruption, a country on the verge of collapsing, people have shown a great sense of responsibility!
In a country that suffered a civil war and never really recovered, a country that has been constantly robbed for over 30 years, people have still found a way to work together and find solutions together.
We've seen priceless efforts; something we would have never expected to see.
Universities have prototyped ventilators. People have contributed and helped in their local areas. Who would have thought in such a situation, streets in Lebanon would get disinfected? That's not even happening in most advanced countries!
Apparently WHO stated Lebanon's strategy was working; the curve has been flattened. American citizens have refused repatriation, saying Beirut was safer!

What a better time to be proud. Really 🙏

In London, things have started to get organized. People have started to understand.
People are now more focused on their health. Running and jogging have become the norm.
Respecting others is an obligation now. Respecting the environment is also another obligation.
Where have the night owls erring on the streets disappeared? What happened to those sitting in their cars at 3am with loud music?
It appears it is now time for the mindful. It is time for those who want to adapt, who want to make changes for the better.

The earth is slowly breathing again!
From fires in the Amazon to fires in Australia on the other side of the planet, we have all been guilty of not listening to our earth and not understanding something had to be done.
Now it has been forced on us.
A form of respect towards nature is settling in more and more minds.
Everyone is sharing satellite pictures showing the impressive decrease in pollution.
Most people are realizing and questioning whether working from home should be the norm. Everyone is noticing how much of a difference it makes.

We're now seeing blue skies!
We can now connect with our environment. We are now required to function at another level of self-consciousness. Every one of us is constantly aware of every move and every touch. Prior to that, have any of you been that aware of their surrounding? Have you ever paid attention to whether you touched your face or not?

What a better time to reconnect.
What a better time to reconnect with ourselves. What a better time to reconnect with nature.

What a better time to reconnect with our families and friends... Funny enough that's what I had in mind to write about. I thought I would be writing a whole post about how closer we can now be; ironically while being so far.
My flow of thoughts has taken me in a completely other direction.
But I hope you guys still enjoyed what has been said.

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.
Are you as optimistic as I am?
Do you agree that we have an opportunity to make ourselves better and this world a bit better?
Please leave lots of comments in the comments section below 👇

I leave you now by sharing this:
For you to listen with earphones and maximum volume on!

Actually, one last video to share with you:
For those who haven't seen this video yet, please watch.
3 minutes 42 seconds and a very powerful message.
Hopefully, it will help you see things differently if you still haven't.

And as always, until next time!
Much love.

  2. If the whole world were lit with light, no one would see that light, if there was no light in their hearts. Indeed, the writer has proven that there is still some good in humans ... Perhaps this crisis will mark a new start towards a new human society.

  3. I agree, this whole situation has brought a lot of opportunity to learn, not just about the world, but about ourselves too. It's nice to see people coming together in these times, and I hope in the future, the lessons learnt during these difficult times will be remembered

    1. Indeed indeed my friend, very interesting to see how many people are sharing these same thoughts... Makes you think, people and society desperately needed that to happen in order to stop the "normal" that was so not normal.
